Self-Care - a Creative a getaway facilitated by Kim Doherty, Art Therapist

This workshop will provide participants with a time that is for themselves. It will focus on self- awareness exercises using art materials. The workshop will support self- reflection, self-nurture and self-advocacy. Using theme of creative getaway. Participants will take a break and participate in workshops delivered within a safe non-judgemental space. Exercises will use theme and metaphor to help switch off the inner critic and let go into the creative space.
You will complete the workshop with a number of items you have made that affirm your personal value. You will also be supported in creating artworks identifying protective factors in your life that help build unconditional positive regard for self.
Space/technology requirements:

Sound cancelling headset or confidential room to participate in

A computer or other suitable device (e.g. i pad), ideally, with built in (or external) microphone, speaker and camera. A computer with a camera

Uninterrupted internet connection
Note: If you have difficulties with sound (microphone or volume) on computer, use of external microphone and/or speakers may work better than adding a second devise.

About Kim Doherty

Kim Doherty is an art therapist who works in a range of contexts including private practice with children, young people and adults. Kim has worked in mental health including community mental health, acute psychiatric setting, youth settings and elderly care. Works 1:1 and also facilitates group work. Promoting the use and exploration of both therapeutic art and arts and health work with a range of stakeholders including local authorities, HSE, CMETB, public and private clients.
