Calling all scientists, techies, engineers, artists, mathematicians and creative practitioners

Call for scientists, techies, engineers, artists & mathematicians interested in youth work

Calling all scientists, techies, engineers, artists, mathematicians and creative practitioners with an interest in working with youth workers and young people to develop inspiring STEAM projects. STEAM communicators and engagers also welcome.

NYCI is looking to broker relationships between youth work organisations and those who work in any of the STEAM disciplines, have a science dimension to their artistic practice, or work in the area of STEAM communication.

We hope to help provide you with opportunities to:

  • enhance your STEAM communication skills by learning from youth workers’ experience of youth engagement
  • deepen your practice by working with young people and youth work organisations in non-formal settings
  • share your expertise with local youth workers and young people.

The exact role you would play in supporting the development of inspiring STEAM projects will be formed based on your area of expertise, availability and the interests of the youth worker and young people you are matched with.

To find out more contact Barbara Nea on barbara@nyci.ie or 01 478 4122.

To express your interest complete this form by 30 June 2019.

Please note that you may need to undergo garda vetting and child protection training depending on the capacity within which you would work with a youth work organisation.
