Opportunity for Theatre Practitioner to Facilitate Older People’s Council – Call for Expression of Interest
An opportunity has arisen for a theatre practitioner to facilitate a new theatre piece for and with the Older People’s Council in Co. Cavan.
The practitioner will work closely with older people through a series of workshops to write and direct a new piece of theatre highlighting some issues affecting them. This new work will be a joint initiative between the Older People’s Council and the practitioner, who will accommodate the needs and requirements of the group in the writing and directing. The new theatre piece will be performed in a community setting as part of the Bealtaine Festival.
It is envisaged that these writing and theatre workshops will take place on Monday mornings over approximately a two hour period commencing in February/March 2018 and will require approximately 8 hours improvisation/writing time with/for the group. Once the script has been completed by the practitioner rehearsals with the Older People’s Council will commence. Rehearsals will take place on Monday mornings over a two hour period (12 hours maximum rehearsals). The new theatre piece will be performed for the Bealtaine Festival, May 2018.
