Call for Artists for a Pop-Up Exhibition, Bailieborough, Cavan (submission fee) Gallery Thing’s is a pop-up gallery concept run by artist Elena Duff. This call for artists asks for submissions for the first group exhibition of the Gallery which will take place before and during the Bailieborough Poetry Festival, in the shop windows and (where appropriate) temporary art on exterior walls in Bailieborough, Cavan.

Gallery Thing’s is a pop-up gallery concept run by artist Elena Duff. This call for artists asks for submissions for the first group exhibition of the Gallery which will take place before and during the Bailieborough Poetry Festival, in the shop windows and (where appropriate) temporary art on exterior walls in Bailieborough, Cavan.

 

The exhibition will run from approx 29 September to the 10 October (exact dates to be confirmed). An official launch for this exhibition, including an exhibition of Elena Duff's paintings will take place upstairs in Bailieborough Library from 7pm. 

 

There is a submission fee of €15 which will cover materials to hang the works, lighting, administration and labour, marketing and the launch. There is no commission on any sales. Artists can submit up to three works in their submission.

 

“Where Words Matter” is the tagline for the yearly poetry festival, which organised annually by local writing group LitLab. This theme should carry on into the visuals on display during the festival and exhibited artworks should ideally be based on poems, include snippets of poetry within the visuals, or be created entirely from words from a poem.

Works should be an appropriate size to fit into shop windows, and preferably lightweight whether paintings/print/photographs/sculptures. Temporary exterior works will also be considered for inclusion.

 

Submission deadline 20th of September. Selected artists will be notified of a drop off point, date and time.
