Open Call : Print Making Residency


Call for Applications

Creative Spark is delighted to offer printmaking artists a residency programme for 2020.
Creative Spark is a not-for-profit company established to promote creative and cultural industries, including new and emerging businesses and freelance practitioners, in County Louth, Ireland. Creative Spark provides a dedicated creative training and workspace facility.

The Creative Spark Residency Programme will provide opportunities for visual artists and art professionals working in the field of Printmaking to research and develop their practices. It will support both emerging and established visual artists working in Printmaking.

Application is by open call and is open to Irish and international applicants
Each residency will be supported by access to all the facilities, basic technical support and a small materials budget.

Applicants should be capable of demonstrating Knowledge of a minimum of one printing process.

Residency Programme Outline

The residency programme will award up to 3 residencies to visual artists each year. Residencies will be of 4-6-week duration. (commencing September 1 2020 to December 31st 2020). Each residency will be supported with access to Printmaking facilities and basic technical support.



The recipient artist will be required to give demonstrations and provide talks on their practice during their residency and donate two printed pieces to Creative Spark. The residency should include a community participation element and may conclude with an exhibition of the recipients work locally.

Accommodation Information:

Private rental – no accommodation provided. Where possible we advise artists about possible options locally.

Studio Information:

24/7 access to print studio facilities (etching, screen-print, relief printmaking and digital printing.)


It is envisaged that:

• 1 residency will be considered for artists originally from or living in Louth.

• 1 residency will be considered for artists from elsewhere within Ireland.

• 1 residency will be considered for artists from outside Ireland.
