DRUMLINIA 2024

 

 

Award winning singer songwriter Don Mescall, together with Cavan Arts, Cavan Institute, Townhall Cavan and brand-new media partner The Anglo Celt are back for the second year of THE DRUMLINIA MUSIC/ MEDIA FESTIVAL one of Ireland’s biggest creative arts industry events. Two of Ireland's top artists headline this year: Daniel O’Donnell opens on Sunday 20th October and Frances Black closes DRUMLINIA 2024 on Sunday 27th October.

INDUSTRY DAY, Thursday 24th October, is a MUST for anyone already working in music, media, film, theatre, T.V., radio or PR, for people trying to break into the industry, or for those who are simply fascinated by the stories behind the legends. This year’s speakers and tutors are some of the best known and well connected names on the Irish and international scene; Willie Kavanagh, Chairman of IRMA (Irish Recorded Music Association), former MD EMI Records, John Saunderson of Notting Hill Music Group (whose recent successes include Meduza & Hozier’s Tell It To My Heart and Tiesto’s All Nighter), Songwriter Sharon Vaughn, who has written classic country songs, international pop hits, and was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame 2019, theatre, T.V. and film actor Rex Ryan (Borderline, 2024) and PJ O'Connor Award winning theatre and film writer/director Philip Doherty (Redemption of a Rogue, 2020, Creative Director Fibín), the highly esteemed Mary Callery of ShinAwill, one of Ireland’s largest and most successful independent production companies responsible for programmes such as Dancing with the Stars (RTÉ), Dragon’s Den (RTÉ), and scripted work including Maryland (ITV) and Rosaleen Molloy, National Director of Music Generation.

WORKSHOP DAY is back on Friday 25th October. Tutors this year include sound engineer and producer Brian Masterson, Windmill Studios Dublin, who has worked with artists such as Bruce Springsteen, and Lady Gaga, vocalist  Bazil Meade MBE (London Community Gospel Choir) who has worked with Sir Paul McCartney, Brian May, and Tina Turner among others, Film score composer Michele Busdraghi, one of Ireland’s best known T.V. presenters Mary Kennedy, WLRFM radio presenter John Keane, Master guitarist James Shannon, Multi award winning songwriter Sharon Vaughn, percussionist Lil Lontcheva and Classical trumpeter Victor Boyco.

A new addition to this year's festival is ‘The Listening Rooms Concert’, Saturday 26th October, Townhall Cavan at 8pm featuring some of last year’s Listening Room finalists. The ‘Listening Rooms’ Music Trail is back. We will be announcing the entry details at the end of next week so keep an eye on our social media is back and will open in mid-July. Also new to the programme is Drumlinia Youth with interactive children’s music shows Pstryk! and Rebecca & The Magical Bridge.
