What We’re Looking For
We welcome innovative, community-focused projects that enhance health and well-being through the arts. Examples include:

Participatory art for people with health challenges

Art in healthcare settings

Performances or exhibitions on health themes

Artist residencies in schools, hospitals, or care homes

About the Project
Led by Culture Action Europe, the Culture and Health Platform (2024–2028) is a four-year initiative supporting over 200 emerging artists across Europe. The project empowers artists working at the intersection of culture, health, and community by offering grants, international networking opportunities and visability for your work

What We’re Looking For
We’re funding 6 artist-led projects in Ireland, each receiving a €4,000 grant.
One project will take place in Cavan Town, while others can be based anywhere in Ireland.
Your project should aim to enhance health and well-being through collaboration with the health, social, or education sectors.
Examples of Eligible Projects:

Participatory art for people facing physical or mental health challenges

Socially engaged art promoting illness prevention or better health outcomes

Art installations in healthcare settings to support patients and staff
-
Performances or exhibitions addressing health-related themes
-
Artist residencies in hospitals, schools, or care homes
-
Practice-based research in arts and health

Led by Culture Action Europe, the CultureAndHealth Platform is a four-year transformative initiative designed to support over 200 European emerging artists working at the intersection of culture, health, care, education and social sectors. By providing grants, mobility and networking opportunities and visibility of their work, the initiative aims to highlight the vital role of culture in fostering health, well-being and social innovation across Europe.

National Focal Points for culture and health: Artists will have a place to turn to for mentoring and peer support provided by the CultureAndHealth Platform members across the EU.

Grants and Mobility Opportunities: Over 170 artists will have access to financial support to carry out projects or engage in international learning mobility opportunities.

Capacity Building, Training and Knowledge Sharing: More than 60 live and online training sessions provided in multiple languages, complemented by 30 peer-learning workshops.

Showcasing and Networking Events: Four international conferences held in Finland (29 Sept-2 October 2025 TBC), Austria, Romania, and Belgium and many more onsite and online events and encounters will showcase innovative practices in bridging culture and health, and will foster connections across artists, health and care professionals and other stakeholders.

An online database of artists: The launch of a digital tool in 2027 to enable matchmaking between the health and cultural sector.
