Our Summer Showcase exhibition takes place at the Bailieborough Courthouse & Bridewell and will be officially opened by John Paul Feeley, Cathaoirleach of Cavan at 1.30pm Sunday 24th July as part of the Bailieborough Midsummer Festival Family Fun Day and everyone is welcome.
The exhibition will run until July 29th, for further times check @facebook.com/bailieboroughcreativehub.
Our call out for artists to exhibit in our first ‘Summer Showcase’ at the Bailieborough Midsummer Festival 2022 has been fantastic. We have more than 20 talented artists from all over Ireland exhibiting in a wide range of styles. In curating this exhibition we hope the artists will benefit from increased exposure and for the public to experience rich arts offerings.
Bailieborough Creative Hub is delighted and proud to be supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. The funding has enabled us to curate the exhibition, provide a free ‘Creation Station’ for the festival with creative activities for all ages and a free mini ‘Summer School’ for adults to try out different art techniques. Connecting through art and creative experiences helps people unleash their imagination and participating actively as well as passively in cultural activities is great for well-being too.
Bailieborough Creative Hub is a voluntary community arts group where we encourage everyone to get creative whatever their level, experience or genre is. With support from Cavan County Council and Cavan Arts we have been offering opportunities for the public to access the arts and arts events since 2019. We created Poetry Town, A Halloween show, art in shop windows, craft markets, a Cruinniu na nOg children's art programme, and have celebrated local artists in exhibitions for Culture Nights and Heritage weeks and much more.
We hope that our ‘Summer Showcase’ & Mini Summer School will become an annual arts event for Bailieborough
