Dear Friend of Cavan,
I am writing to you today with exciting news about Cavan Calling, the global homecoming festival for the Cavan Diaspora
I am pleased to announce that Cavan Calling will take place from 27th to 30th July 2023 here in County Cavan, with the global Cavan family coming together for a four- day celebration of the county, its people, culture, heritage, landscape, sport, and the achievements of its Diaspora.
Cavan people living at home and overseas, those with Cavan ancestry, and those with an affinity for the Breffni County, are invited to answer Cavan’s call and join in the celebrations.
A full programme will be announced in due course, but I can assure you Cavan Calling will feature a packed line-up of concerts, cultural performances, tours, ancestry events, networking opportunities, and much more.
The Cavan Calling celebrations will coincide with the centenary of the home of Cavan sports, the hallowed ground that is Kingspan Breffni Park. Our friends in Cavan County Board will be organizing plenty of GAA themed activities and Cavan Calling will partner with the GAA to incorporate these celebrations into our own programme of events, so it promises to be a week to remember!
To help whet the appetite for next July’s Cavan Calling extravaganza, the annual online #CavanDay will return on Saturday, 24th September. Make sure to get involved on your social media network of choice and help spread the word about our wonderful county!
For now, all you need to do is save the dates for Cavan Calling: 27th to 30th July 2023. Whether you are a regular visitor to Cavan or have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to visit, there is no better time to come home. Cavan is calling, I hope you will answer the call!
Le gach dea-ghuí,
Tommy Ryan
