During Eimear Crowe’s residency she will research and develop her own practice exploring domestic tools through ceramic processes, making drawing and video. Her work involves re-examine the uses of the domestic tools and its production to explore themes of gender, identity and interior space. She intends to meet with makers of handmade domestic implements.

Eimear says ‘the finished work will be a multi disciplinary experience for the viewer that will examine the perception and use of the domestic tool at our disposal.   I am interested in the future of having an exhibition space at an agricultural show and that would include spoons or tools made in clay at children’s workshops held during the residency.’

The artist has included a series of children’s workshop in the ceramic process. 

This residency would provide the basis for an opportunity to apply for the Arts Council Young People, Children and Education Bursary Award in 2015.

The Research Residency was awarded by Cavan Arts office and runs winter 2014 - 2015.  Supported by the Arts Council.
