Areas of Interest:
The main focus of my art is contemporary abstract painting, but I also have experience in ceramics, printmaking, photography, theatre - both acting and set build/painting, traditional arts/craft and performance art based projects.

Regarding graffiti art, I have done large scale mural work on individual based projects and also joint effort projects. Through various artists/drama groups, I have participated in shows and exhibitions, public art performances, painting, and acting. I have worked on projects involving arts and disabilities. Most recent work was with Killeshandra Drama Group, where I exhibited a selection of paintings in Killeshandra community hall while also acting on stage with their performance.

Bio:

Throughout my work; Line, Shape and Colour in their simplest form have influenced me. Taken this into account patterns and designs from all various sources such as architecture, culture, civilisations around the world including our own, play their part in my work. By a continuous application of line and colour to the canvas I build up layers influenced by pattern and design, to create an actively structured piece of work. The interest in my work is to create an actively structured and layered piece that will be a play on the eyes of the viewer. The work is also about movement or how we see or encounter with an observation requiring a constant series of glimpses.

Along with this, I have incorporated various experiences and activities of my life to full advantage in my artistic work and career development. By drawing inspiration from my surroundings, experiences and other sources, I find contemporary painting a great and exciting answer for my own artwork. Along with Ceramics, Sculpture, Printmaking and other techniques, within painting I find an area of endless possibilities with great challenges and greater rewards.

My career as an artist started in 2000 following the completion of leaving cert qualifications from St Patricks College Cavan, I achieved an Art, Craft and Design certificate from Cavan College of Further Studies in 2001. Following this I moved to Sligo and worked as an artist completing a B.A. in Fine Art by 2006. After graduating I travelled viewing and working with art, then found employment in industrial printing, and also have gained experience in the media broadcasting industry. I have also worked with various arts and drama groups around the country and in the county of Cavan most recently with the Killeshandra Drama Group.
