Opportunity for Visual Artists – Illuminated Lantern & Installation Project with Mentor Tom Meskell

We are seeking 3 visual artists to take part in a hands-on weekend workshop with artist Tom Meskell as part of his Sleeping Giant project.

The workshop will take place in Ballyconnell on Friday 10 July and Saturday 11 July 2026, and will focus on creating illuminated lanterns and upcycled installation work. Please note that full attendance on both days is required. Lunch will be provided.

Following the workshop, each selected artist will receive a €2,000 grant to work with local schools and community groups during September and October.

This work will contribute to the Gulliver’s Travels celebration The World of Small Things and Giants in mid-October 2026 culminating in an illuminated lantern parade and installation

Applications open: 20 May 2026
