Arts Office and Townhall Cavan Scholarships 2022

About/Vision

Cavan County Council Arts Office and Townhall Cavan are delighted to announce the Arts Office and Townhall Cavan Scholarship 2022. The Scholarships are aimed at supporting artists whose work explores questions and ideas that are of compelling interest to our life and times. We are interested in hearing from ambitious, innovative artists who work in any medium, who can demonstrate the need, benefit, and value of a Scholarship at Townhall Cavan. Artists applying for a Scholarships will be motivated by one of the following:

  • Themes on contemporary culture(s).
  • County Cavan – its borders, character, cultural identity, and memory.
  • Exploring interdisciplinary practice.

The scholarships will provide the selected artists with:

 

  • a bursary award of €6,000
  • a studio at Townhall, Cavan for a three-month period, 2022/23

Selection Criteria:

 

To establish your eligibility for this opportunity, we will be assessing your application on the following criteria. Please ensure that you have addressed each of these criteria in this application.

 

Criteria for eligibility

  • Applicants must be undertaking research and development in a new area of practice or innovation
  • Artists must be Cavan based and demonstrate a need to access studio space
  • Successful candidates are asked to provide an artist talk on their residency and acknowledge this opportunity in future publications and catalogues.

 

Deadline: 14th June 2022. Applications cannot be accepted after this date.
