Press Release: Thirteen artists will show their work during an art fair as part of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. It’s a novel idea and entrepreneurial to piggyback onto the hugely popular event celebrating Irish music and culture. This event creates a platform for the artists to exhibit their work that enables a special kind of public engagement with a different type of atmosphere to the conventional exhibition. The festive event supports a communal spirit and openness, with the artists present throughout the weekend. There will be plenty of opportunities to speak to them about their work in the informal and close setting of their individual exhibition spaces. This is an occasion to showcase work by artists connected to Cavan and an opportunity for people to consider buying original art. (see more....)
Collecting art might be daunting, but in reality it can be enjoyable and challenging – and it does have many rewards. A first tip for collecting art is to buy something you like, because the work moves you and because it will enhance your life. Regular visits to galleries, art fairs and exhibitions help to familiarize the viewer with work that they like personally and will want to live with.
