The Gonzo Theatre presents the latest comedy offering from Philip Doherty, writer of the 7 plays for ‘The Town on Stage’ gives us ‘Fleadhtown’… a high energy play that dramatizes the greatest week in Cavan Town’s history. A host of characters and stories interweave from every walk of life. Publicans, musicians, priests, gurriers and ladies of the night all give their two cents in this feast of music, multimedia and most importantly, comedy!! Over fifty characters, one small town & the biggest traditional festival in the world. Cast- Karina Charles, Shane O’Connor, Fiona Fitzpatrick, Ray Fitzsimmons, Juile-Ann McKiernan and Shane Carroll, sound design with Alan D’Arcy & Daragh Slacke and multimedia by Finn Keenan. From Saturday 13th to Saturday 20th nightly at 8pm (except Wednesday 17th no show) at Gonzo Theatre, Imperial Bar, Cavan.



Ramor Players present A Holy Show! by Padraic Mc Intyre, director of Livin Dred. The new owners of the Glenaduff Inn JJ and Mona Gilmartin have big plans for this rural establishment with the return of the Fleadh to Cavan for 2011. However two set of visitors, a Polish girl and three priests throw these plans into disarray. From the writer of The Night Joe Dolan’s Car Broke Down comes another topical comedy with music. A Holy Show Town Hall Cavan Thursday 18th and Friday 19th August at 8.30pm



Lisogain Players perform popular folk classic The Honey Spike from Brian Mc Mahon. The Honey Spike is directed by Fr Patsy Young who contributed a drama group to almost every parish he spent time in. Among his successes include Corn Mill Theatre, Carrigallen, Shercock Drama Group who are hosting the All Ireland Confined Final in 2012 and Ballyconnell who boast a large community drama group. Lisogain are a new drama group on the Cavan landscape and a welcome addition. This show will be performed at Corn Mill Theatre Carrigallen 19th and 20th August, Ramor Theatre 26th and 27th August, and Town Hall Cavan September 2nd .

For younger audiences, Killeshandra Youth Drama Group is delighted to be on the programme for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. Their innovative show Blacklight will be at Town Hall Cavan as part of the Family Day on 14th August at 6.30pm. Blacklight is a charming story told using florescent costumes and props. The youth members have created a special and magical theatre piece for all the family to enjoy.

Finally Gonzo Theatre presents Charlie and the Big Friendly Twits – The Roald Dahl play, 7 hilarious books in 45 minutes from the greatest children’s storyteller ever. A theatrical extravaganza for all the family starring Tommy Sharkey and Charlie Mc Guinnes, adapted for stage by Philip Doherty and directed by Kevin O Connor. Daily on 13th and 14th at 4pm, 19th at 4pm, 20th at 2pm and 21st at 2pm and 4pm.
