In response to the current Covid 19 pandemic the local authority arts office in collaboration with Tom Meskell is running a series of workshops for artists and makers. This series of workshops will involve the making of wire frames that are later covered in tissue, this is a versatile and quick sculpture technique ideally suited to large scale making for parade structures and spectacles. This project will focus on the participants making a model of a head using their own head proportions. This will ensure the maker has a well-proportioned head sculpture. The making sessions will be delivered in a series of workshops with ten artist/makers and will take place over Zoom. This technique introduction for local artists will be the foundation of a larger scale community project with the artists and makers and will be showcased later in 2020.
