Developing Creative Practice Across Borders Print Museum

Safe Return from Estonia from the first residency group..

Our Cavan artists have arrived home safely from their two week Leonardo da Vinci Mobility exchange in Creative Industries, Tartu, Estonia. All reported a very rewarding trip having gained lots of experience print making and meeting artists from across Estonia.

They worked at the Creative Industries artist’s hub in the centre of this rural Estonian market town. They also met and visited other artists at the Print Museum and participated in Design workshops and printmaking.

Alan D’Arcy a musician and sound expert from Belturbet liaised with local musicians in Tartu and has created some new unique music as result.

Pawel Kleszczewski and Kasia Zimnoch of Konic are hosting a first anniversary exhibition at 61 College Street, Cavan from 26th July.

Print Museum and Mooste preparation event

Artists travelling to Tartu and Mooste in August as part of the Cavan Arts Office Developing Creative Practice Across Borders project participated in a preparation event facilitated by Maria Kerin on 27th June 2014. The artists are travelling to the Print Museum in Tartu on the 2nd of August whereas four artists are travelling to Moks in Mooste, Estonia on the 5th August.

Their two week placement will give them an opportunity to learn new skills, share their work and meet artists from across Europe.

We wish them a very successful and rewarding trip.

Developing Creative Practice Across Borders artists have arrived safely in Tartu, Estonia and have already begun to create art. Well done to you.

Their host Lemmit Kapinski has prepared a very active itinerary for them during their visit including:

printing workshops; visits to Creative Industries; Arts festival; Tour of Street art; and open air cinema festival as well as countryside visits and tours.

They will have many opportunities for creative practice and inspiration for new creative endeavours in that beautiful country.

Enjoy!
